Ep 174: How to let go of control to grow a business
03:01 – If you think you have to do it yourself in order to get it done right, that is wrong. We need to get you out on that mindset.
03:22 – For me the new way of thinking is if you want it to get more done, then outsource it, get someone else to do it. Because at the end of the day, your job is not to do it right yourself. Your job is to get more done and to do it right every time.
03:47 – When you try to do everything yourself, it actually holds you back from doing things the right way.
06:03 – it’s not the task, it’s the mindset. It is not how we let go of the task, it is how to let go of this mindset that is holding us back from letting go of control.
12:15 – We think we know what’s best and we think we are protecting our business, but actually we are hurting it.
13:38 – If you never let your business grow and you never let yourself get out of your business and let it do its thing while you go grow the business, it’s gonna be the same thing.
17:35 – If you have a business and you feel like the people aren’t doing the job, you probably are not bringing them into a culture in which is showing them that there’s room for growth and they are part of something bigger than themselves.
24:43 – I hope these things will help you change your mindset a little bit but I want to end this with asking “What’s the one thing that you are ready to release control of now?”.
27:57 – If you are the person that this business leaves and dies with, not only is that scary, it is selfish.
29:03 – An entrepreneur is not someone who just owns the business, it’s a business that runs and operates and grows without them ever being present.
