Ep 083: Bringing the Olympics to real estate | Hans Struzyna
03:13 – Hans has always been of the opinion that someone who has a real estate license and practices can also invest.
14:50 – Life started over in a big way, says Hans. Hans always figured real estate could be a part of his life because his grandfather is a big real estate developer, two of his uncles are big in the real estate business, his dad was a real estate attorney and his dad’s brother owns an apartment building.
15:58 – An Airbnb host gave Hans his first opportunity in real estate. They offered Hans a remote position using all of their tools, their virtual assistants, and the cold calling scripts. Basically, Hans started finding leads and trying to either flip them or sell them.
18:37 – Hans made a pitch to the most successful agents in their geography to join their team. Luckily, they did bring him onto their team. As a result, Hans has been able to step into the higher end luxury market.
19:35 – Hans says they represent people not price points. As a team, they are more interested in representing awesome people, says Hans.
20:16 – The end-game for Hans is financial freedom. For him, that means having passive income and enough volume that it takes care of their monthly expenses so that they don’t have to actively go out and sell houses.
22:01 – Hans says that a lot of the agents that he knows personally think that the investor side is a little “yucky” and investors just try to low ball people. Hans also thinks that people fail to realize that people sell assets to solve problems.
27:49 – Being an athlete and doing muscle exercise has been super helpful to Hans when it is negotiation time because he is able to withstand the discomfort a little better than most and that gives him an edge in negotiating.
29:42 – As an entrepreneur you have to be willing to put in time on a task just like an athlete. If you can put the repetitions in over a year or even a couple of months, you will surpass a person who’s not willing to do the work.
