Ep 088: Lifelong hustler finally finds massive wealth in real estate | Don Costa
05:40 – In the last couple of years, Don said that their business averages a couple of hundred deals a year and they are in multiple markets.
07:27 – In 2008, his real estate business fell apart and he lost everything. It was because of his ego, lack of experience and his horrible leadership, says Don.
09:11 – Focus on what you are good at and master that. Then add things and augment your business once you master one lane.
10:10 – Don says, “Nobody out there knows what is going to happen and no one can predict what the market is going to do. No one knows what the long term economic impact is going to be.” He added that it’s better to admit that you don’t know and watch the data and make decisions based on the data.
16:31 – Momentum breeds momentum, says Don.
19:02 – Don thinks that he always saw himself getting to a certain level of success. He thinks that the challenge he has, like most of us, is believing whether he can do it or whether he is worthy of doing it.
19:58 – He was broke beyond what most people realize broke is. It changed him at his core. Now, he doesn’t live a crazy lifestyle. The difference for him is that he has a choice of freedom.
22:04 – “At this point in my world, security is the most important thing to me,” says Don.
23:06 – The people that Don wants to follow are the people that want to become better all the way around. Better human beings, husbands, fathers, leaders, and better business people.
24:38 – Don said that the only thing he has that some people don’t is experience. Other than that it is just making decisions to do things.
25:20 – “It’s about the decision. It’s about the decision to take your journey even if you don’t know exactly what the outcomes are going to be. You’re going to set a goal and you’re going to take that journey and it is little steps.” Don said.
