Ep 187: Russian moves to USA and builds an AirBnB Empire | Svetlana Conques
06:37 – After a few years working in the restaurant industry, Svetlana invested in her first house in 2010 and she’s been learning the business since then.
22:45 – About 5 years ago, Svetlana she hired her first full time contractor and then started a construction company. It went really well because they are busy really well in the off season in rentals and then they are kind of slow in the summer because rentals are booked up. Those are the times you swap and you do somebody else’s work and try to bring some revenue in.
30:13 – Changing software while you’re doing business, especially if you have two high seasons, is like replacing your driveway while you have 7 cars in your driveway. It is insane and it took us 2 and a half years to completely switch over. There were so many challenges in rebuilding the system.
33:44 – Focus on what you want to do. Focus on the kind of company you are building. If you don’t have focus, then you get distracted with units that are not serving you. They are just draining your energy and resources.
35:13 – If you are in a real estate investment you need to have a real estate license. Real estate core will teach and give you certain knowledge on itself and will give you practice and a better understanding of the market.
41:48 – In time management, my time would be set time for yourself. Set clear boundaries from the beginning. Set time for your strategic time first thing in the morning.
